Writing starts after the child can see and say the letters. Use big, slow movements first: air tracing, finger tracing, then pencil writing. One neat line is enough for one sitting.
Keep the page open beside a notebook. The child says the letter, traces it in the air, then writes it once or twice. Do not erase again and again. Circle the best attempt and stop while the mood is still good.
Do these six movements before letters. Say the movement aloud while the pencil moves.
